Shell out to LilyPond, take the .cropped.png, and inject it at the trim stage so it flows through staff-height normalisation, song scale, pad and encode untouched.

Done: a replaced slice sits at the same note size as its scanned neighbours with no manual scaling — which is what staff-height normalisation was chosen for.
